Establishing Boundaries for Growing

Prosperity Gardens teamed up with Professor Mark Taylor and his architecture graduate students this semester to research and develop site plans for Prosperity Gardens’ expansion project in the Beardsley Park neighborhood.

Students first spent time with Professor Sam Wortman, from the soil sciences department, learning more about urban agriculture and sharing the challenges that come with developing and growing on an urban landscape.

Each student was given a specific focus for their project. We enjoyed listening to each student present their concept for fencing, chicken coops, renewable energy sources, high tunnel placement, a new wash-and-pack facility and much more! We hope to take away some great concepts and turn them into reality.
