All Hands in the Dirt

We are so excited that it is that time of year again! The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and we have fresh produce coming up already! Students from READY Program are as antsy as the rest of us to get outside and get in the garden. Each day several classes from the READY Program travel the short distance to Prosperity Gardens to use the space as their outdoor classroom. Prosperity Gardens Program Coordinator Josephine Tritsch has been working with her students in horticulture class, where they have started most of the seeds for the gardens. Last week broccoli was transplanted and potatoes went in the ground. Students are gaining valuable skills during their class time in the gardens. With the support of READY staff, like science teacher, Aaron Higley, we are able to bring science to life in the gardens.20160401_13483220160401_134908Fall Crew 2015
